Who we are
Tricon Driving School is an ICBC-approved driving school based in Surrey, BC, with a second campus in Langley and a third opening in Duncan/Nanaimo on Vancouver Island. We teach two kinds of students: new drivers working toward a full British Columbia licence, and adults building a career behind the wheel of a commercial truck.
On the car side, that means Class 7L learner and Class 5 novice lessons built around ICBC's Graduated Licensing Program. On the commercial side, it means the full slate of ICBC-approved truck training — Class 1 MELT, Class 3, air brake certification with the Code 15 endorsement, and individual lessons or pre-employment road tests for drivers and carriers who need something more specific.

We’re available every day until 9pm, including weekends and holidays, to talk through what truck driving is really like. The questions we answer and the information we give you will help you decide whether truck driving is for you, and which type suits you best.

How we teach
The licence is the goal, but the habits that keep a new driver safe are what we're actually building. That shapes a few things about how a Tricon lesson runs.
Classroom and cab, together
Theory is taught in-house, then applied the same week on our own trucks and cars, so a lesson sticks to a specific skill you just drove — not a slide you saw weeks earlier.
Instructors who've done the job
Our Class 1 instructors hold ICBC MELT-designated instructor licences and have driven commercially themselves — you get the regulation and the reasoning behind it.
Real mountain grades
Mountain driving training runs on the Coquihalla Highway and through the Fraser Canyon — real B.C. mountain highway, not a simulator or a diagram.

After you're licensed
A licence is the halfway point, not the finish line — especially on the commercial side, where the real question is who's going to hire you. Tricon graduates get resume and interview help and introductions to carriers who hire new drivers, along with an honest account of which trucking segments are actually taking on people fresh out of MELT.

Is Tricon Driving School ICBC-approved?
