A third Tricon campus, in the Cowichan Valley
Tricon Driving School has trained commercial drivers in Surrey and Langley for years. We're now opening a third location based near Duncan, planned to serve the whole Cowichan Valley — Mill Bay, Cobble Hill, Lake Cowichan, Ladysmith — plus Nanaimo and up-Island communities, with the same instructors and the same standards, closer to home for Island residents.
This will be Tricon's first location to offer car driving lessons alongside our commercial truck programs — see car driving lessons for what a Class 5 course covers. See our Duncan and Nanaimo location pages for the city-specific side of this same story.

Once open, we expect to serve students from across the Cowichan Valley Regional District — Duncan, Mill Bay, Cobble Hill, North Cowichan, Lake Cowichan and Ladysmith — as well as up-Island toward Nanaimo. If you're not sure whether you're in range, call and ask — we'd rather tell you honestly than have you guess.
In the meantime, our Surrey and Langley yards remain open 9am to 9pm every day for anyone able to travel to the mainland sooner.

What programs will be offered in the Cowichan Valley?

Will the Cowichan Valley location replace Surrey or Langley?
No. Surrey and Langley continue running exactly as they do now. The Vancouver Island campus is a third, additional location, not a replacement.
