Visiting a location
A few practical things that make a first visit smoother, whichever yard you come to.
- Drop-ins are welcome during open hours, but calling ahead means an instructor and a truck are free the moment you arrive.
- Bring your BC driver's licence (or learner's/novice licence) and, if you have one, your ICBC medical/driver's fitness clearance for commercial programs.

Locations — frequently asked questions
Which Tricon location should I choose?
Pick whichever yard is closer to drive to regularly — Surrey or Langley. Both run the exact same programs with the same instructors and the same trucks, so the choice comes down to commute, not training quality. Students from Delta, Abbotsford, Burnaby and Vancouver typically train in Surrey; students from Aldergrove, Abbotsford and Maple Ridge typically train in Langley.
Do I need an appointment, or can I just drop in?
You’re welcome to drop in during our open hours, 9am to 9pm every day including weekends and holidays. Calling ahead just means we can have an instructor and a truck free the moment you arrive, so we’d recommend it, but it isn’t required.
Are both locations open on weekends and holidays?
Yes. Surrey and Langley are both open 9am to 9pm, seven days a week, including statutory holidays, with no separate holiday hours.
When does the Duncan/Nanaimo location open?
We don’t have a confirmed opening date or street address yet for Vancouver Island. It will offer car driving lessons for a full Class 5 licence alongside our commercial truck programs. Call (778) 549-1727 to be added to the list and get notified as soon as dates are confirmed.
Can I switch between locations partway through my course?
Call us to discuss it before you start. Because Surrey and Langley run the same curriculum, it’s sometimes possible to split lessons between the two, but scheduling depends on instructor and truck availability at each yard, so it isn’t guaranteed by default.
