A third Tricon campus, on the Island
Tricon Driving School has trained commercial drivers in Surrey and Langley for years. We're now opening a third location on Vancouver Island, based in the Cowichan Valley near Duncan and planned to serve Nanaimo and up-Island communities too — the same instructors and the same standards, closer to home for Island residents.
This will be Tricon's first location to offer car driving lessons alongside our commercial truck programs — see car driving lessons for what a Class 5 course covers. Also see our Duncan location page for the Cowichan Valley side of this same story.

Once open, we expect to serve students from Nanaimo and up-Island communities — including Lantzville, Cedar, Cassidy and Parksville/Qualicum — as well as down-Island toward the Cowichan Valley. If you're not sure whether you're in range, call and ask — we'd rather tell you honestly than have you guess.
In the meantime, our Surrey and Langley yards remain open 9am to 9pm every day for anyone able to travel to the mainland sooner.

The exact street address hasn't been confirmed yet, so we're not publishing one until it's locked in. The new Vancouver Island campus is based in the Cowichan Valley near Duncan and is planned to serve Nanaimo and up-Island communities as well.
What programs will be offered in Nanaimo?

Will the Nanaimo location replace Surrey or Langley?
No. Surrey and Langley continue running exactly as they do now. The Vancouver Island campus is a third, additional location, not a replacement.
