Privacy Policy
How we collect, use and protect your personal information — and the rights you have under British Columbia’s Personal Information Protection Act. Last updated 11 September 2026.

Your privacy at Tricon
This policy applies to tricondrivingschool.ca and to enquiries you send us by form, email, phone or WhatsApp.
Who we are
Tricon Driving School Ltd. operates a driver training school licensed in British Columbia, with its Surrey Location Office at 12511 82 Ave, Surrey, BC V3W 3E8, Canada. For any privacy question, contact us at [email protected] or (778) 549-1727.
We are the organization responsible for the personal information described below. We handle it in accordance with British Columbia's Personal Information Protection Act (PIPA).
Information we collect
We only collect what we need in order to answer your enquiry and deliver training.
Information you give us
- Contact details — your name, phone number and email address, when you submit an enquiry or registration form, email us, call us, or message us on WhatsApp.
- Enquiry details — the course you are interested in, your preferred location and start date, and anything else you choose to tell us in a message.
- Licensing information — if you enrol, the details required to register you for training and testing, such as your driver's licence class and status.
Information collected automatically
Our website is a set of static pages. If you accept analytics cookies in the banner, we use Google Analytics 4 to count visits and to see which pages and contact buttons (call, text, WhatsApp, forms) are used, so we can improve the site. It sets first-party cookies and records usage data such as pages viewed, approximate location and device type. It does not give us your name or contact details, and we do not use it for advertising or sell it to anyone. Nothing is loaded until you accept: choose “Necessary only”, or change your mind later with the Cookie Settings link at the foot of any page, and no analytics cookie is ever set. Analytics is also switched off automatically for browsers that send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal, and you can opt out with Google's Analytics Opt-out Browser Add-on. With the same consent we also use Hotjar to see, in aggregate heatmaps and anonymised session recordings, how visitors move around our pages, so we can make the site easier to use. Hotjar does not record what you type into our forms. Besides your cookie choice, the only other thing kept in your browser is a note that you have already seen or sent our call-back form, so you are not asked twice. Our hosting provider keeps standard server logs, which may include your IP address, browser type and the pages requested, for security and troubleshooting.
Some pages load fonts from Google Fonts and animation libraries from a public content delivery network. When your browser fetches those files, the provider receives your IP address as part of the ordinary operation of the web. We do not control those providers' logs and we do not receive any information from them about you.
How we use your information
- To reply to your enquiry and give you course, schedule and funding information.
- To register and administer your training, including scheduling lessons and road tests.
- To meet our obligations as a licensed driver training school in British Columbia.
- To keep records required for accounting, insurance and legal purposes.
We do not sell your personal information. We do not rent, trade or otherwise disclose it for anyone else's marketing.
Forms and email
When you send an enquiry or registration form on this site, your details are sent over an encrypted (HTTPS) connection to Web3Forms, the form service we use, which delivers them to our inbox by email. We use them only to reply to you. Please do not send sensitive information such as payment card details, your Social Insurance Number or medical records by email or web form. If you need to give us something sensitive, call us and we will arrange a safer method.
Who we share it with
We share personal information only where it is necessary, and only to the extent needed:
- Government and regulatory bodies — including ICBC and provincial authorities, where required to register you for training, testing or certification.
- Funding partners — where you ask us to support an application under a program such as WorkBC or the B.C. Employer Training Grant, we provide the information that program requires.
- Employers — only with your consent, if you ask us to refer you for job placement.
- Service providers — our website host and email provider, who process information on our instructions.
- Where the law requires it — in response to a valid legal demand, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.
Where your information is held
Your information is stored in Canada or the United States, depending on the service provider involved. Information held outside Canada may be accessible to the courts and law enforcement of that country under its own laws.
How long we keep it
We keep enquiry records only as long as needed to follow up, and student and financial records for as long as required by our regulatory, tax and insurance obligations. When information is no longer needed, we destroy it or render it anonymous.
Keeping it secure
We use reasonable physical, organizational and technical safeguards appropriate to the sensitivity of the information, and we limit access to staff who need it to do their jobs. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.
Your choices and rights
Under PIPA you may:
- Ask for access to the personal information we hold about you.
- Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate or incomplete.
- Withdraw consent to our use of your information, subject to legal and contractual limits — note this may mean we can no longer provide training.
- Ask us to delete information we are not required to keep.
- Complain if you think we have mishandled your information.
Write to [email protected] and we will respond within 30 days, as PIPA requires. We may need to verify your identity first. If you are not satisfied with our response, you may contact the Office of the Information and Privacy Commissioner for British Columbia.
Children
Our courses are for learners who meet the minimum age for the licence class they are pursuing. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Where a student is under the age of majority, we may require a parent or guardian to give consent and sign enrolment documents.
Links to other sites
Where we link to ICBC, WorkBC or other external resources, those sites have their own privacy practices. We are not responsible for their content or their handling of your information.
